The Jimmy Stewart Museum, in conjunction with the Indiana University of Pennsylvania English department, will present a film festival showing the film collaborations of Stewart and director Frank Capra.
The festival will include 7 p.m. screenings of “You Can’t Take It With You” on Sept. 12, “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” on Oct. 10 and “It’s a Wonderful Life” on Nov. 14., all taking place in the Jimmy Stewart Museum Theater.
Admission for the film screenings will cost $3 per film and each screening will include an audience discussion led by an IUP film studies scholar.
The film screenings, which will be open to the public, are being presented in conjunction with a writing competition for high school, undergraduate and graduate students.
The competition, which will include categories in poetry, creative prose, essay and research essay, will reward $150 for first-place winners, $100 for second-place winners and $50 for third-place winners.
For those interested in competing, competition materials should be submitted to Dr. Tom Slater by the 5 p.m. Nov. 30. deadline.
